My artistic journey began over 50 years ago, as a little girl with a vivid imagination growing up in western Nebraska. Art was always my favorite subject in school. My hands were constantly engaged in something creative. In my heart I knew someday I would become a 'real artist'.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1989. I studied all areas of studio art before completing my thesis work in abstract oil painting. Upon graduation I discovered polymer clay and became completely enchanted. For over twenty years I created miniature figurines and Christmas ornaments.
While handcrafting limited edition Christmas ornaments has been ongoing since 1990, eventually my miniature figurines left me uninspired. My desire to produce one of a kind art led me to the whimsical art dolls and vignettes I create today. In 2011, I found my true passion, and A Piece of Lisa was born.
I am so very blessed to be able to do what I love each and every day. I enjoy and appreciate the love and support of my family and friends, and especially the collectors who choose to open their hearts to A Piece of Lisa.
